gae,
I agree with you but as much as it may pain you to hear or trav or GS or any of the others, the tax cuts need to be repealed. OR W needs to cut down on some of his spending, war excluded. You can't do both.

I am convinced beyond any shadow of any doubt that Bush and his economic polices are a complete and unmitigated disaster for this country. I do not have the words to describe how incredulous I am at the debt this country is accumulating.
Words cannot describe the damage Bush is doing to our country and no one can stop him.
Thank you Mr. & Mrs. BibleBelt, and Mr. & Mrs. MoralValues.
PS: I will be happy to go toe to toe in a debate with anyone who thinks that Bush's policies are a good thing for our country.
IMO, if the Dems had nominated someone other than Kerry we'd have a new President come January.
As far as I can tell, the Kerry supporters were simply voting against Bush. And a lot of Bush votes were cast by those who simply didn't want Kerry.
The debt is quite worrisome, you're right. But I couldn't find anything on the Kerry web site that indicated that he would do anything differently. Oh, I know, he "had a plan". And a big part of that plan was to raise taxes on the "rich".
Who's rich? What are the parameters?

You'll get no argument from me on the either or propostion.
I think spending on social progams should be scaled back. Because, you know, there have always been poor people. If we weren't forced to support poor people through taxes, I think a lot more folks would willingly give to charity.
IMO, the 'No child left behind' initiative is pure BS and should be scrapped immediately. Those who care about their childrens' education will make sure they get an education. Those who don't -- no amount of money will solve the problem.
The idiocy of Thursday's topic -- mandatory mental health testing for all children -- is also BS. Kids are kids, and curious children don't need medication.
Further, I think Social Security should be privatived.
What else shall we debate?
Um...not sure what else to debate. It seems to be you, me, and occasionally Pina online today.
So, white wine with steak? Why not?
Whites are generally much more delicate than reds. Served with steak, the bouquet of the wine would be lost.
But what the hell. We're in Cincinnati.
What would you serve with Cincinnati Chili? Red or White?
OK, Two answers on one post.
1) Gae, I actually like the idea of people being able to put some of their social secrurity into private savings accounts. They can make more interest on money that, in reality, they earned.
2) Jumper, I will do the white wine with red meat as I will also do a lighter red wine with certain fish.
It's all about taste. Your own personal taste. It may be considerred taboo to some, but some people do not like red whine and prefer a chard with their steak.
I don't see it as a big deal, I've often made jokes about myself when I do it.

Jumper shall be banned for bringing back bad memories.
Is someone talking food? Who is serving steak? When and where? But it must be with red wine.
C'mon Jumper...
It's chili and , even if it's root beer LOL!
